15th October - Camp 865 – Camp 658 (Neil Turner Weir)

Today was a nice easy day traveling from Beadmore Dam up to Mitchell.  We have deviated off the Inland Way a little bit as Barry wants to try out the heated spas at Mitchell.  We stopped at Roma and went to this magnificent shop that had material and everything else piled nearly to the roof, It was astounding how much “stuff” was in the shop.  Russell & Sue told us about it and we managed to buy a few things.  I am staggered that the owner knew where to find anything, it really was stuffed with stuff.  On the way we called into a Museum at Surat.  Very interesting.  A sleepy little town with a Cobb & Co Museum and an aquarium, a stage coach in the back room, and lots of memorabilia.  We did our supermarket shop at Roma and managed to find a free shower at Muckadilla which was so nice to wash my hair and stand under the shower for 10 minutes. Now planning to take a breath and stay here at Neil Turner Weir for a few days, take off the car and explore the town of Mitchell.  There are a lot of people staying here in this free camp so the van should be safe.  Sitting here typing this tonight there is a beautiful red sky to the West, so calm and warm.
