16th October - Camp 658 - Neil Turner Weir (Mitchell)

We have decided to stay here at the Neil Turner Weir campsite for at least another 2 nights, maybe 3.  It is a fantastic camp and right on the weir.  Outside the caravan is grass and there is no one too close to us.  When we arrived last night there were quite a few caravans and campers staying but they have mostly left this morning.  It will probably fill up again later in the afternoon.  Unhooked the caravan and went for a drive into Mitchell this morning.  There is an old pub with a bull sculpture out the front.  Very imaginative, it is made up of all sorts of metal including an old sewing machine.  Love it. We are planning on going in for a counter lunch tomorrow.  There is also an Artesian Spa Bath which looked very inviting.  Not like Moree where it reminded me more of "Cocoon" than a nice relaxing spa, with 100's of Old Codgers soaking in the water - YUK.  When we had a look there were just  4 people in the water and they were all "young" (maybe that's what the water did for them.....!!! just joking).
